Studio Job - Job at The Wilde

Studio Job was founded in 1998 by Job Smeets in the renaissance spirit, combining traditional and modern techniques to produce once-in-a-lifetime objects. At once highly specific and yet entirely universal, personally expressive and yet experimental, Studio Job has crafted a body of work that draws upon classical, popular and contemporary design and highly visual and sculptural art.

The Wilde Presents – The Future of Radical Design:

A Conversation with Charley Vezza, Job Smeets and moderator Mauro Porcini

Friday 11th April, Via de Giardini, 16, Milano

Studio Job are excited to announce their participation in an exclusive evening about the future of radical design hosted at the latest cultural hotspot in Milan. The Wilde – presents The Future of Radical Design, an event bringing together two of the most provocative voices in contemporary design: Charley Vezza, creative force behind Gufram, and artist-designer Job Smeets of Studio Job—one of Gufram’s most daring collaborators in recent times. Moderated by renowned thinker and innovator Mauro Porcini, the newly appointed Chief Design Officer for Samsung, this conversation will explore the avant-garde spirit of radical design and its evolving role in art, design and our lives in 2025 and a glimpse inside the often crazy minds of these visionaries.

Organized by Milanese curator Carola Cometto, currently working as Cultural & Entertainment Program Director to The Wilde. With a career spanning Milan, London, Los Angeles, and New York, she has collaborated with Gagosian Gallery, Kering, Adidas, and Belmond Hotels, known for bringing together art, culture in engaging shows and events.

Gufram, known for its playful irreverence and boundary-pushing aesthetics, has long defied conventional design norms. Under Vezza’s leadership, the brand continues to challenge expectations, bridging pop culture, fine art, and craftsmanship. Job Smeets, whose provocative works fuse storytelling, maximalism, and high-concept design, brings his own bold perspective to the dialogue, questioning the limits between function and fantasy. Mauro Porcini, a trailblazer in innovation and brand transformation, will steer the conversation through key themes and fascinating insight into the minds behind some of the most radical products in recent times.

This event will take place at the most talked about new venue in Milan, The Wilde, a dynamic private members’ club and cultural hub that has quickly established itself as Milan’s premier gathering space for leading creatives across art, design, fashion, and technology. Located in the former residence of Santo Versace, The Wilde fosters an environment where forward-thinking conversations and collaborations thrive, making it the perfect setting for this discourse on radical design.

This landmark discussion is set to captivate artists, designers, and cultural enthusiasts alike, offering a rare glimpse into the creative minds shaping tomorrow’s design world.
