Studio Job - Le Grand Numero De CHANEL

Studio Job was founded in 1998 by Job Smeets in the renaissance spirit, combining traditional and modern techniques to produce once-in-a-lifetime objects. At once highly specific and yet entirely universal, personally expressive and yet experimental, Studio Job has crafted a body of work that draws upon classical, popular and contemporary design and highly visual and sculptural art.

Studio Job’s sculpture edition of a Chanel no.5 bottle, commissioned by Chanel was on show at their exhibition in Paris <Le Grand Numero De CHANEL> from 15 December 2022 to 9 January 2023 at Le Grand Palais Éphémère. Curated by Thomas du Pré de Saint Maur, Chanel’s head of global creative resources for fragrance and beauty, fine jewellery and watches, the exhibit guides you through different chapters of the brand’s rich fragrance portfolio, cleverly demonstrating the multifaceted beauty of scent: “It’s a moment in time, it’s a creative gesture, it’s a culture object, it’s a metaphor of life,”

Displayed in the ‘art’ section of the exhibition alongside other artists such as Andy Warhol, Studio Job’s oversized bronze top created a surreal take on the iconic bottle.
