BLOW
Fast Food Furniture
A sofa shaped like a hot dog and a burger-like chair. The food-themed pieces are part of Studio Job’s Blow collection, and has been launched by BLOW during the 2017 Salone del Mobile fair in Milan.
As a critical reaction to the American political return of ‘nationalism’, Job designed this Amricana fast food furniture set. In contrast to mass production, these fast food pieces are produced by the refined upholsterers who also work for Lamborghini, Ferrari and Maserati, using the finest leathers, fabrics and embroidery.
As with actual hot dogs and burgers – described by the brand as “iconic images of American culture” – the sofa and chair are each made up of a number of components.
The Hamburger chair features a bun-like seat, with cushions designed to look like a patty, a tomato and a gherkin.
The Hot Dog chair has much the same – but in place of the circular patty cushion is a long sausage embroidered with a squiggly yellow pattern to look like mustard
